How to get from Nerja to Frigiliana

Nerja and Frigiliana are two towns located in the province of Malaga, South Spain.

Separated by just 7 km, they are the perfect getaway to enjoy the Mediterranean way of life.

Through this post, we will give you all the information and tips regarding how to get from Nerja to Frigiliana so you can enjoy and visit both places in one day.

How far is Frigiliana from Nerja?

The distance between Nerja and Frigiliana is about 7 km.

Nerja, located on the coast of Malaga, has attracted visitors from all over the world for its beaches, views over the Mediterranean, natural environments, and growing leisure offers.

Frigiliana is an inland town that has been attracting visitors since the end of the 20th century with its whitewashed houses, privileged location 300 meters above sea level, and mild climate.

There are several ways to get from Nerja to Frigiliana.

1.1 Driving a Car

The drive from Nerja to Frigiliana takes approximately 15 minutes, via MA-105.

The road is well-maintained and easy to follow. There is free parking available in Frigiliana.

1.3 By bus

A regular bus covers the journey from Nerja to Frigiliana.

The bus runs almost hourly from Nerja up into the hills of Frigiliana. Most days there are 6 departures from Nerja in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. The bus also runs on Sundays and holidays but with fewer departures.

The trip will take you about 20 minutes (one way).

Frigiliana doesn’t have a bus station, so the bus stops at the bottom of the village, which is just a 5-minute walk from the old town.

1.3 Taking Taxi

If you don´t want to wait for buses and don’t have a car taking a taxi is the option which suits you.

The transfer will take a few minutes and the cost is about 15 euros (depending on the season, the number of people…).

1.4 Walking

Walking from Nerja to Frigiliana takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The route is via the Nerja-Frigiliana footpath.
