2. Nerja Caves
A series of caves located in the town of Nerja, in the province of Málaga, Spain. The caves were discovered in 1959 by a group of young boys who were exploring the area.
Prehistoric paintings and sculptures inside the caves date back to the Paleolithic era.
For these many reasons, the Nerja Caves are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Spain.
The caves are divided into three main sections:
- The Hall of the Cataclysm is the largest chamber in the caves. It is named after the collapse that occurred here millions of years ago.
